How to Make Headphones Louder

There are many factors responsible for some headphone models to sound louder compared to others. The major factors are the impedance and sensitivity. Generally, the impedance is measured in ohms and the sensitivity in decibels. Therefore, it is necessary to know about these specifications before choosing a headphone.

Sometimes your headphones may be good in terms of the above-mentioned specifications, yet you may find that they are not loud enough. Especially, if the source is a mobile phone. This is because most mobiles do not have powerful headphone amplifiers. Hence, mobiles cannot boost the headphone volume to an optimum level. Do not worry! Here are a few tips and tricks to enhance the volume of your headphones.

The Common Solution

It is to buy a headphone amplifier. These are available in a range of sizes and models. Generally, an amplifier is connected to the headphone output on your source using a short cable and then the headphone is connected to the amplifier. It provides a big boost to the output power and in turn increases the volume. Moreover, it improves the sound quality. This is the most common solution as it is the most cost-effective one. It costs only around $20.

Further, an amplifier can be used with desktops and laptops. Therefore, it is very functional and gives a high-quality audio setup with many sources.
